Hey family!
This week was seriously intense! in a good way! This week has probably
been the week that we have done the most work since I've been here. We
have been finding lots of solid new investigators, and setting a lot
of baptismal dates. We met this one older lady named Leonor Casillas,
and she is incredible. She met the missionaries over fifty years ago,
read the entire book of mormon, gained a testimony, and has been
waiting for the missionaries to come back ever since then! It is
amazing to see how prepared she is. When we think about it, it's
really the Lord that helps people be prepared for baptism, we are only
there to help! Things have also been going well with our nine year old
investigator Paolo. His whole family is reactivating and coming closer
to the church. And last but not least, we have the Cereceres Family,
and all three of them are just golden. It wont be long before they are
baptized as well. Our ward has really been helping us out tremendously
lately, in so many ways. I blame it on our ward mission leader though.
Also, things with me and Elder Bishop have gotten a little bit better,
so we will see what happens at transfers! So basically, there are a
lot of good things going on down here!
So tranfers are next tuesday, so probably dont send anything to the el
paso address until I find out if I am leaving or not. But I did get
Dad's letters, Nathan's awesome paper airplane, and that great
package! thank you for all of that, and I hope to be writing back to
you guys soon! My favorite part of the package was definitely Tylers
band concert program. So many good memories! And I am so happy that I
have a brother doing something that I loved so much too! You rock
Tyler! And of course the rest of you too! I am soooo sad to hear about
shadow though. She will definitely be in my prayers, I hope she can be
found! I also got that letter from stevie! west virginia huh? sweet!
if you guys see him, tell him that a return letter is already in
progress! Also, I definitely appreciate those emails from adam, and
also the bulb. its good to hear about how all those guys are doing.
Anyways, I have to go, but I wish you all luck in your last week of
school! thanks for the picture too! hasta luego!

5-21-12 email
Hey Mom! and Family! If you havent caught on to the pattern yet, Im going to start with the missionary work, and then move on to other important things. Soooo, this week was pretty good again I guess. We had a wonderful baptism for Sylvia on Saturday, and I think it went very well! She is so happy right now! It has been really inspiring to me seeing the changes that she has gone through. We also got four new baptismal dates this week! one of them is for a mom named Cecilia Cereceres, and her whole family is actually coming to church and other activities already. I hope that they all get baptized. Our Ward mission leader, Bro. Pena is still doing a ton of good things for us and for the ward. he really is a rockstar. So the work goes on well, and I think lots of good things are starting to happen down here in El Paso! Haha my ankle is ok now, but I was on crutches for a few days. I never went to the doctor's but I did take good care of it, so no worries. I will try to refrain from jumping more fences! So ya, we do have a cellphone, so its really kind of only the honor system that keeps me from calling you every day. We use text a lot too! I figured out the other day that because I have now been out 4 months, I am a sixth of the way done with my mission. Fun huh? Its cool hearing about things back home. Where is Joel going again? Hopefully stevie tells me soon too. I hope all my friends are doing well too! Its not too hot here yet, but its cool that summer is almost here! good luck with the last couple weeks of school! Sadly, I dont have a lot of time because I want to put on some picture so Adios! So here are some baptism pictures with sylvia, and a picture of a painting that one of our investigators did! way nioe. I hope you all have a great week! now you owe me pics too haha

5-14-12 email and Mother's Day call
On Sunday we were so lucky to be able to talk to Jacob for about 50 minutes. It was GREAT! It was just nice to be able to hear his voice again and to get immediate answers to our questions. He sounded happy. Surprisingly we still got an email from him the next day.
hey guys! sorry, its going to have to be really short this week. Its
been pretty good this week though. We have our baptism this Saturday
(Sylvia Sifuentes) Its funny because she is actually in her interview
now. The area is going pretty good. Elder Bishop and I have been
reorganizing a little, so things are starting to go a little more
smoothly. We just barely got two new baptismal dates yesterday. One,
Paolo Cuellar is a nine year old, whos parents are members. The other
is Bryan Jimenez who is just a couple of months younger than I am.
Anyways the work here is going good, and I am definitely starting to
get attached to some of the people here. They are amazing! (and they
cook really well too)
So also, I think I sprained my ankle pretty bad today jumping over a
fence. Haha I have ice on it now though, but its pretty swollen. oh,
and I actually thought of something that I really need and cant get
here. Its Eagle Scripture Markers they are just crayons, and I only
need the one with like 5-6 colors. Anyways, that would be awesome,
because mine are almost gone. So it was way cool talking to you guys
yesterday! It was awesome hearing your voices. Also thanks for
inviting Stevie over! that was cool. dont tell me his call, because he
said he would send a letter. Anyways, Im sorry, but I really have to
go now. I miss you all so much! adios!

hey family,
Haha, well this week has been pretty interesting. Weve been having a hard time finding new people to teach recently, so we focused more on finding. I definitely had a couple way cool experiences with that, but I'll tell you more about it when I call! Rodrigo has ben doing pretty good, even though he didnt come to church yesterday because he had to work. also, today is Elder Bishop's birthday which has been pretty fun. Things in the past couple days have been a lot better between us. on Saturday, we actually got into a huge fight, but I think its what we needed, because we worked some things out, and now I think things will be a lot better. Ummm... I cant really think of a lot more to say, except that I am getting a lot more used to being a missionary. Everything is starting to come at least a little bit more naturally! Sorry I dont have a lot of time to write today, we have a birthday lunch for Elder Bishop really soon.
Anyways, as far as mothers day goes, I will call you guys at about 1-130 from my phone, so that should be way fun! I am looking forward to it! Also, I love getting emails from you guys, but I have such a limited time to respond, I would love to get some letters too! It makes it a lot easier for me to send letters to you too! It sounds like you guys are all having a great time though! especially you Miranda! Thats soooooooooooo awesome that you made it into madrigals!!! I'mso excited for you!!! I cant wait to get some recordings around christmas or something. And good luck with all of your AP tests! I nkow you can do it! Also Dad, way to go on the running! I have actually been consistently running since I have been a missionary, so maybe Ill start getting in shape soon hhuh? except I have now discovered blue bell Ice cream, which is going to make me fat. SOOO TASTY! Haha sorry, I am a little bit wired right now and Ive got to go, but also have fun in SAn diego! thats where all the other elders in my MTC district are. Anyways, I will hope to hear from you guys again soon! adios! ( also the picture is of Rodrigo)
