6-25-12 email

Hello family!!!
Well this week has gone by super fast. Honestly not a whole lot has happened. We go knocking every once in a while here, but still not a whole lot because of the help we have from members. Sergio, Hno Zamora and his son, and Lee will all be getting the aaronic preisthood this next sunday! very exciting. We were also able to find seven promising new investigators this week, so hopefully the baptisms keep coming! We had stake conference yesterday, and it was very long, because we had to go to the english and spanish sessions. It was pretty cool though. The Juarez temple president and his wife spoke, and there were some really great testimonies from some recent converts. It's pretty funny, because I feel like I'm out of place when I'm around so many white people like that. Haha
It sounds like shadow has adjusted to the wild since her days of freedom, I hope there is still a bird population when I get back to Utah. Its almost as cool as the fully grown bobcat a member caught the other day and showed to us! Crazy. It looks like summer is still going well for you guys. I hope you have fun in all of your various activities like hiking, summer PE, BYU, Scrapbooking (wow 08?), and whatever else you guys might be doing. Im really sorry guys, there really just isn't a lot to talk about this week. I hope you will forgive my really short email. Have a fantasatic week!

Hello Family!!
Haha, I feel pretty bad, I took a ton of pictures this week, but I forgot to bring the camera to email. Sorry, you guys will just have to wait another week I guess. Anyways, it was a crazy awesome week for me down here still in El Paso! (there is actually a socorro TX that took up most of my last area) My area right now actually goes into New Mexico a little bit, so thats kind of fun. look up chaparral nm. So we did indeed have five baptisms this last weekend. The Zamora Family were in the spanish ward. It was the parents and their son and daughter. I was actually even able to confirm the 9 year old little girl Mitchelle. It was wonderful! They are really an awesome family, already super strong in the gospel! Also, we had the babtism of Sergio Roberts in the english ward on saturday. He is seventeen and got introduced to the church by his girlfriend, the bishop's daughter. Kind of funny, but a really good kid. He already wants to serve a mission too! The work really is going well in this area, and so far I am really enjoying all of it too! To explain my area a little bit more, we are right in between Fort Bliss Military Base and these mountains I still dont know the name of. It is mostly pretty dense city until you get up north to New Mexico. So we get a lot of military people here. probably about 80 percent of the english ward. We also get a lot more cultural variety here. We have lots of Mexicans, White Texans and surprisingly a lot of Black texans. Pretty fun really. our are also ranges from 2 million dollar houses to mobile homes and trailers. So far I am enjoying it though. I certainly dont have to use as much spanish here, but I am actually starting to study more. Anyways, it sounds like you guys are all doing great back home! Mom and Dad, you guys look way too cool kayaking and stuff in San diego. It looks like you had a way fun time! I hope all you guys keep having fun with your summers! It sounds like you all have some fun plans!  Make sure to tell Alice congratulations! thats really cool that she is getting engaged! I can't wait to meet mr Ben Patron! Sadly, I have to go now, but I am trying to get better at writting back to you guys! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hello family! Well, I have indeed gone to a new area! Super sorry I didnt write last week, things just got really crazy moving, packing, and saying goodbye to people. It was pretty hard, but it was time for a change. So my new companion is Elder Schnell from Portland Oregon. This is his last transfer, so I will be taking over the area when he leaves. We are here covering two wards, one english, and one spanish. The Hondo Pass and Transmountain wards (northeast El Paso). Basically, that means a lot more white people, and six hours of church. So far I love just about everything in my new area including my companion! I was definitely done with Elder Bishop. Haha... He really wasnt horrible, but he was super condescending all the time, and halfway through last transfer, I stopped putting up with it, and he didnt like that. Anyways, I have some pictures, but today, me Elder Schnell and A member named brian went to the mountains and explored these old tin mines! way fun, they were actually really long and way spooky. Sorry, I dont know how much time I have today, But it is so great to hear that you are all having fun and that Shadow came Back!! Yay!! oh, and also, we had a baptism right when I got to this area, Lee Andrews, and we have FIVE more scheduled for this week! The Zamora Family and Sergio Roberts.
